    Just as the Dining Chair makes no excuses for its heft, Fredrik Paulsen’s round wood dining table is similarly forthright about its purpose. This is a solid wood dining table designed to work hard for generations to come. The lively grain of Finnish pine is especially present over the table’s large surface areas, while the simple logic and artistry of its making remain enjoyably explicit.

    Material: Scots Pine. The solid wood dining table is crafted from pine — a soft wood that, over time, will get dents and scratches. These imperfections should be seen as signs of aging that add character, not as flaws. As it matures, the pine in this wood dining table gradually shifts from pale tones to a warm, honeyed hue, enhancing its natural beauty.

    Material Characteristics

    Pine gets better with age. The colours mature to a deeper palette. The heartwood and sapwood age at different speeds and bring out the natural patterns of the grains. After a few years, pine of this natural wood dining table will settle into a rich and complex honey tone.

    Pine is a soft wood and will get dents and bruises over the years. But don’t think of them as blemishes or flaws. Embrace them. They’re evidence of life lived and furniture loved. Pine isn’t life-proof. It’s proof of life.

    Every pine tree is harvested from sustainably managed Finnish forests. The wood is hand-selected of the highest quality and each piece has its own unique colours and grain patterns.
